Hey it's about damn time the long-eared one got a pic dedicated to himself...though sharing the spotlight with his distant cousin [YO SPOILERS!] wasn't on his agenda in the slightest XD

Vel's shorter than Mage by a good foot, but then, Mage counts his ears into his height factor so there's a discrepancy between 'em anyway; that gets its own running joke in "Origins". This is a scene (sans background because it was spoiler-filled!) taking place in the Council's Atrium during what is considered a shitstorm-in-progress. They're calm because they have to be; leave the panic at the door and try to talk their way through things they know ain't going to go well in the interim.

Mage's uniform is the darker contrast to Vel's, but they both ignore the meanings of that divide when it comes to the matters concerning the people of the Archipelago. Shit goes down often so these two have to be top of their game (and not necessarily at each others' throats like they were in their much younger days).

No musical inspiration for this one; this was drawn on the bus to work during that week-long lockdown we had in SA; the bus being empty meant I had room to relax and that's why this one looks a lot cleaner than my usual sketches.
