2016/17 update on the Human!Star Switchers, Ten Cents and Sunshine.
Yeah, these two still crop up in my sketches.
Decided I'd let their designs stagnate long enough without an update.
I draw these two in their later years; to that end, Canon timeline puts them at the ages of 10 and 7 respectively (which was a nice little touch considering episode #1), and in my sketches/artworks, Ten is between 15/16 and Sun is around 10/11. Reason for that is…it’s just me. I prefer seeing an older dynamic between the twosome
Ten is 5″8 and Sun is 5″5
Sunshine’s uniform actually makes him stand out just a bit more than he previously did; in the older arts, I had established a uniform look for him that was more akin to him having been in the fleet for years…which was a mistake because I kept adding/taking features away and generally not being happy with the results. This uniform is a step away from the rest of the fleet’s, whilst still being just slightly visually similar to Ten Cents’
Retained the original flag patch (left sleeve) and numeral patch (right sleeve) from the older artworks. I debated giving them the same flag patch that I have on my fursona, VJ, but decided against it - there’s obvious inspiration between the two teams, but no exact copy of the other
Made some tweaks to their footwear; Ten’s are now a sneaker/workboot hybrid and Sun’s are now steel-capped sneakers (based on the pair I own for cosplay purposes)
Ten wears a waterproof zip-up hoodie/tunic, and a heat/coldgear turtleneck top beneath that in spring/summer. In fall/winter however, he wears the turtleneck top, a sweater over that and a (usually) unzipped waterproof jacket
Sun wears this uniform for three seasons (spring/summer/fall) before swapping to a scarf, sweater and jacket combination for winter. Unlike Ten, his jacket is usually zipped up. I figure that though Sunshine’s fully used to wintertime up river, in Bigg City Port it’s a different story with a greater barometric pressure drop due to being so close to the open sea
Swapped Sunshine’s scarf (fall/winter) for a bandana (spring/summer). I figure it belonged to Ten Cents at some point. I’m a sucker for little details like that =3
