This image takes place around eleven or so months after her release from hospital, when she's almost fully moved in to her new home on the outskirts of the Grey Zone (she's 19 here). Her crutches are off to the far righthand side (not shown due to bad scan).

By this point, Sterling the old cat has fully adopted her, and Corbin, seen sleeping underneath her little library bed, is about to turn a year old. After spending so long in hospital VJ is slowly deprogramming from the experience, choosing to have beds in every room...even the smallest areas of the house; in this case, a spare closet that has been converted into a little private reading nook with a spare bed inside.

Most of the books on her shelves are either gifts or have been donated to her from various sources. The scrolls contain various decrees and things she has yet to get around to translating in future.

Rhubarb (her second dog) and Huntley (her second cat) have not yet joined her; there will a few more ups and downs before VJ is ready to take on more companion pets / more duties on top of what she's already dealing with.
