Warforged Zero by Ryan-SilverFox

Warforged Zero

Ryan-SilverFox

So, a week ago, some friends and I decided to try starting up a Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition game. We rolled up characters and started on a short adventure with more fun to come. This is what I rolled up - a Warforged Fighter named Zero.

Zero is named as such due to the designation number engraved on him. Zero's number denotes him as an original, prototype model made by his creator. Whether there are others like him is a mystery as was his ultimate purpose. Most Warforged were built to take place in a massive war and as such were produced from metal, some biological material and, of course, magic. Unlike most constructs, Warforged are sentient and capable of free will, thought and emotion.

After the war, the remaining Warforged had nothing to do and set out to find purpose. Zero wandered around and eventually was taken in by a mercenary group, where his skills flourished. He was an agile fighter with a compliment of melee and ranged weaponry. Moreover, he suffered little limitations such as food, drink or sleep, so he made a fantastic night watch for the group and an even better scout as he could not be exhausted. Sadly, while out on a scouting mission, his mercenary group was wiped out and, with nobody else to turn to, he ventured alone to continue the missions his previous group had. Perhaps he'll find a new purpose down the road... or at the very least, gather new members to replace his fallen brethren.

Zero fights with dual scimitars and, if need be, a hand crossbow can be accessed from his left forearm. As he is Warforged, he is rather straightforward and efficient, but can crack a joke here and there.

The pic itself was kind of fun to do. Instead of the normal method, I just decided to colour the sketch itself and not do proper lining. I also used a messier colouring and shading style to give it a bit of an old-time-y look, almost as if it was an old painting from an ancient legend.
