Azar by Ryan-SilverFox

Azar

So, sometime last year, I uploaded this pic:

In it, I mentioned that the top character was yet un-named. After taking some time and doing a bit of searching, I've decided for now to name this character Azar.

For reference, Azar is a mimic, but not the standard "treasure chest" variety. Azar is a pot mimic, which means she turns into a jar/pot. She has gotten strong enough that she can change the appearance of her pot, which commonly forms her pants. As a mimic, she is very good at changing her appearance (primarily the appearance of her pot), but she also has some small extra-dimensional magic (mainly revolving the pot itself being it's own pocket dimension). However, where she excels is fire magic (hence why she's decided to call herself Azar, meaning "flame"). Her other notable skill is dancing, as she's learned how to dance from her studies.

For most of Azar's existence, she's studied books and scrolls in the dusty dungeon she grew up in (she is a monster, of course). These books, a combination of ancient tomes, magic scrolls and the personal effects of deceased adventurers who fell in her dungeon home let her learn of the outside world, which fascinated her greatly. Eventually, she met Owen and Yun and, instead of outright attacking her, she decided it was finally time to see the world with her own eyes and experience all that there was to be seen.

Azar is a hot-headed, mischevious spirit, who often does not think before doing something. As a mimic-type monster, she is a bit of a kleptomaniac and likes to hoard treasure and other shiny things. Despite the form she takes, she dislikes being confused for being a "genie", as she is not (as far as she knows) related in any way to a djin. Calling her (or even implying her as) a genie infuriates Azar more than anything else. A stranger asking Azar for three wishes will commonly get those three wishes granted... as three fireballs to various places on their body.

In combat, Azar obviously uses her various magics to attack at varying distances. She can also combine her dancing with flame to create impressive and devastating techniques, including, but not limited to shaping flame into a serpent-like form that twists and dances in the air as it attempts to engulf it's targets. Azar's dancing and smaller frame also makes her a difficult target even at close range, as her movements are confounding to even the most seasoned fighters. Additionally, due to her mimic nature, she is able to alter her form in combat. This commonly takes the form of the end of her hair forming a claw to grasp or slash at enemies. Worse yet, if caught in her grasp, Azar can pull victims into her pot, where she is at her deadliest. After all, a mimic's pocket dimension may be a tiny world, but it's their world entirely.
