Dying Confession by Rukis

Dying Confession

Rukis

"Klaus. . . " I managed, ". . . thank you. For everything."

He was still smiling.

"Luther." He murmured, in what would prove to be the last breath that would ever escape his lungs. "Know that I loved you."

And then I was holding nothing. Just the tall, statuesque form of an honored Amurescan Admiral, dead on the deck of his ship.

I've had this scene in my head for a long, long time, and I'm glad to finally bring it to life. The small pencil sketch I have of the original image sits next to my work desk, but I always wanted to illustrate this scene with a lot more time, and effort.

I used a different coloring technique for this piece, which I'm hoping is noticeable, because it took about twice as long. I'm open to any crit that isn't pertaining to the structure of the boat, please. . . it's really not the focus of the scene.

A Limited Edition print of this will be available in the Anthrocon Art Show, in a home-made frame made from found wood, donated by a good friend of mine from this community.

Used a lot of techniques in this I picked up from Myenia's panels. If she ever holds one at a convention you're going to, and you're an artist in any form, go. Easily one of the most well-spent hours of my artistic career.
