Taking an entirely different direction for this one. It's a method I've toyed with before, that uses mostly pen for texture and focuses on otherwise fairly flat colouring. I had some trouble getting it to apply to lighter colours, but I think if I try some of the things I've learned since then, many it'd work? This looks alright anyway, and with some practice maybe it could work.
Some day I hope I can just pick a method for colouring and stick with it, I'm getting real tired of this. x3
Anyway, thanks to for letting me experiment with his character. Like all my colour tests, was drawn pretty quickly, so there's some weirdness going on anatomically, but at least the colouring doesn't look like horrible shit time, hah.
Aaaa oh my gosh. <3 Thank you so much for picking me!
I really like what you did with this. C: I think for just a test, it came out really well! :3
The coloring is definitely more uniform with this one, and you were already really good at making fur texture with the pen first, so this one does work pretty well. It does lack some of the excitement, but it's still really beautiful all the same. :)
A bit too much excitement for me in that last one. :P I'm liking the smoother feel. I think the problem I had with this method before was that I tried to use pen for all the texture, which just doesn't work. It's only suitable for really dark areas and highly fluffy areas, so I've got to balance where I do pen texture and where I do paint texture.
But really who knows, I can never seem to find a method for painting that just looks good and works for all situations. x3
I see you. Here, on this site now. :3
I like this way of coloring. It looks a tad more 3 demensional.
