Old character concept work :D

He comes from a small volcanic island on the east side of Ohyru where he grew up in a small city located just a few miles away from an active lava field. Though the devastation of the eruptions never reached the city he would travel inland to the most active peak and spend hours watching the constant glowing streams of magma as they are formed from small crevices in the rocks. When the sun went down he discovered a secret beauty as the atmosphere changed, relieving rare glowing flowers and the everlasting constant glow of the lava as it flowed steadily to the sea.
Also, the little creature on the bottom right is a pyroclastic canine, or more commonly known as a Guinea dog due to their chubby guinea pig like body, they are native to the island and are only found in high volcanic arias where starlight flowers grow. If they happen to touch Lava they evolve into a higher form which appears more fox like, but as soon as their body temperature drops they shrink back down to their original form.
