A storyline boss from my DnD campaign: the Lord of the Dance.

Bards are unique among magic users: where a wizard or a druid would call upon the energy of the world around them, a warlock or a cleric would beseech a magical entity for contract or aid, the bard draws their power from the soul music: the thread of memories and knowledge that comprise all souls that have lived, died, and lived again.

Reaching into the memories of lives past is what gives a bard their command over the world itself. Empathy and learning are the bards greatest strengths. Being aware of just how much power lies behind memories, experiences, connectivity, and expression drives most bards to becoming chroniclers and artists. The mightest of whom find souls of equal might by which to record their stories.

Here where the pulse of the world is at it's strongest may you face the sum of all our lives: the one who weaves stories as music, and life itself as a blade. We are the Lord of the Dance.
