Motor City Fur Con Recap by Rob Swanson

Motor City Fur Con Recap

Rob Swanson

This will be the last bit of MCFC Stuff from me, I promise.

So, I'm sure that nyone reading this knows by now that I went to my first convention last Friday. Motor City Fur Con was a blast to attend. I got to meet a lot of furries that are local to the Metro Detroit area. I even had the chance to meet a few of the better known furs in the fandom. Meeting a few people that I was watching over on FA was a blast. (MaryMouse and Chayce, if you're reading this, it was great meeting you two.)

So, moving on to why I felt this image would sum up the convention. Well, believe it or not, there weren't many panels scheduled for Friday. The opening ceremonies were at 2pm and the first panel that really drew an audience was a furry version of "Who's line is it anyways?" at 6pm. The only other panel worth mentioning that day was Uncle Kage's Story hour. The results were what you might expect when you get a number of bored 20-somethings together in a social situation with easy access to alcohol. People sort of congregated around the hotel bar. It didn't hurt that the hotel's lounge and dining area was built around that either. I'm sure that was done purposefully. The same thinking probably went into their decision to have that area be a large portion of the convention's floor-space. Anyways, it was a good time meeting people at that convention.

Thanks Keirajo. It's definitely a convention that I would recommend to a friend.

I think it's great to go to any convention and be able to meet people you know!
