I also have yet to unveil several of GIMP's mysteries, such as "how do I add a layer for colourisation that doesn't ouright overpaint my scanned drawings which reside on the layer named 'background' ?"

To the left we see a perfect example of the conflict between hesitance and boldness in a new situation. The black smears are to cover temporary, yet rather confidential notes from one of the first conferences I attended.

To the upper right is the latest addition to my tiny motif series of drawing stuff based on the lyrics of music. And it appears this guy's attempt to make out with her friends at 3 a.m. is off to a bad start already. It is also the reason why I have marked this whole collage as 13+.

To the lower right, is an illustration of my flawed thinking when having to stay over at a friend's place on a Saturday night because the first train on a Sunday won't leave until 7 a.m. For rather than accepting my fate and get some shut eye and exchanging social pleasantries over a calm Sunday breakfast with them, I lie in wait for the remainder of the night, waiting for that very first train of the day in order to bolt as soon as possible, so as not to inconvenience my host. But that seems to make me a much more troublesome house guest, instead.
According to Bernd Gieseking, this trait of being a bad guest is inherent in us Owl-Country denizens, though I'm not sure if bringing your own pillow cases is comparable to hiding any traces of my presence and stealthily sneaking out of the flat at the break of dawn.
