My main thought process was to make a flat abstract person, a flat abstract animal, and TF between them. After I drew the guy, I picked a badger because I felt they had that brunt, protruding quality that best opposed him. The idea of a narration weaving around them was an interesting afterthought that I impulsively ran with.
