So then, after coloring the Hot Springs pic I wanted another shot at trying out digital coloring without falling flat on my face or taking too long to do it. I think additive light just tends to work better than subtractive shadows--less juggling of tones goes on in that case.
Color depth in the water seems to help differentiate it from the rest; I'd done similar things in pictures with characters who had water dripping on them but hadn't mixed it with clearly inked delineations before--at least not in this volume.
I kept things simpler for the background this time around since Charli (and her, uh, assets) was going to be the main focal point of the pic--there wasn't a lot going on with the background details besides just being details and light sources.
