Obviously, there are so very many reasons for drifting, I could do an entire "365" on that topic alone.

Platonic, romantic, familial - we can love one another so fiercely deep that we're blindsided and cannot express why bonds so strong become reduced to tethers. It's not always foreshadowed by struggle and hardship - sometimes, our paths simply diverge (and I, the road less traveled by).

Some relationships can catch the fork and re-route; some cannot. It's hard to know when to let go and when to -be- let go, and sometimes harder still to understand that it isn't necessarily "giving up" on someone, or that we are "worthless", so much as that we've run our course and the chapter's over but the pages still need to turn.

I do not believe that all things end, but very many of them do. So enjoy the walk while you're on it, have hopes, and well wishes - and remember that you (both) will be okay.
