"The nasua - also known as coati - weighs up to 6.5 kgs and is characterized by a long, often-erect ringed tail and a pointed snout. It has large, non-retractable claws. Nasuas are social animals & live in groups that can have up to 20 members, usually of females and young males, since adult males are more solitary. If you do spot one, please admire from afar and do not try to touch feed it. While they are often quite friendly, they are still wild animals, and we try not to disrupt their natural food cycle. They also could possibly bite."

I think I saw one of these creatures while riding a transport vehicle in Vidanta Riviera Maya resort hotel.
