"The black catbird or black meow bird is found in the Yucatan Peninsula, Belize and Guatemela. Shiny black with a thin bill, it lives in jungles, forests, bushes, and clearings of abundant vegetation. They usually sing from a prominent branch, but the rest of the time they are shy and easily unnoticed. They are usually found at the foot of the bushes, jumping on the ground, wagging and fanning their tail. We do not see this bird frequently because it lives in isolated colonies. They eat fruit and prefer palm trees. Their breeding season is between April to August, and they lay 2 eggs in a nest that looks like a bowl."

I think I've seen a few of these birds over at Vidanta Riviera Maya.
