The far left was me trying to come up with something more dynamic

Middle was me googling "action lines" and drawing an example pose

Right was me trying to do my own "line of action" (and failing, I think)

I understand the concept of a line of action, I think, but I can't figure out how to put it into practice! When looking at tutorials online, sometimes the limbs are included in a line of action, sometimes they're not. Why? Even when the limbs look like they're being active? I just can't grasp this concept! But I really want to. I'm tired of drawing dog dudes standing around all stiff like. It's lame.

Any advice would be really appreciated! Even good tutorials you've come across.
