Keep an eye out for this oil painting in Anthro New England's 2017's charity auction! This took a lot of effort. It's the biggest painting I've completed yet, at 12" x 36". It was challenging, but I was glad to push myself, and do something to give back to a fandom that's been good to me, for a fun event in a city that I love.

Science is broad, but I decided upon space travel to represent that, because it's a zenith of advancement. The planet in the background is Mars, not just to frame the deer and add colour, but because it's where we're going next.

This was created with non-toxic oil paints: Venetian red, yellow ochre, radiant white, Payne's grey, and raw umber. It's a slight offshoot of a Zorn palette. The cotton canvas was primed with white acrylic gesso. I chose pure white, instead of staining it, to make sure that the light from that tablet really glowed.

This is a really excellent work, it makes me desperately wish I could see it in person!

Thank! I wish that more people could see it! The photos don't do it justice.
