"Father!" the purple penguin yelped in alarm, she quickened her pace in a measly attempt to reach the penguin marching in front of her. "Father please! I beseech you reconsider your decision!"
"There will be no reconsidering, Gale." the male before the young princess ceased his movements as he slightly turned his body to gaze down at his youngest child. "You are to be the next ruler."
"But father!" Gale pleaded, "Surely the rein can be passed down to my brother, Lexis! He is far more superior than I!"
"No." the king returned in a slightly sharper tone, "You are to be the next ruler, your sister has stepped down from her spot and that leaves you as the next heir."
"Father please! I-
"That is enough, Gale!" The king spun around to face the princess with a harsh gleam in his eyes, causing the purple penguin to jolt and shrink back under her father's gaze. "You are the only other female of the family. You know that every heir is to be the opposite gender of the ruler before and you are her." The king turned with an angered sigh. "There will be no more arguments, am I understood?"
Gale opened her mouth, almost opting for another protest, but when she was met with her father's back the Princess instead sagged and dropped her gaze to the patterned floor. All of her hopes and dreams were they just...gone now?
"Yes... father." The princess whispered hoarsely in return. After a moment of hesitation the king took that answer and left without a word, leaving Gale to herself and with a small, burning anger deep within her towards her elder sister.

POOR WRITING YAY.
However this is canon. Gale was actually meant to rule the Southern Kingdom, however after she went missing, Eren Kaiser, Anke's father, was put into the place of King.
