Ascending the Corporate Ladder - Part 4

RaddaRaem

Corporate life is one full of drudgery, disrespect, and disappointment. Noa, but a simple intern, has internalized these lessons all too well. One fateful morning, fate shines down upon the arctic fox as her errant wish for bigger and better things is granted.

FIRST, PREVIOUS, NEXT

Noa forced a smile at the ticklish sensation brushing against her back. Ventilation, exposed wiring, and insulation cascaded down her neck as she dropped to her knees with deafening THOOM.

Her morning had been spent making the rounds across the floor. Shooting the shit with her newfound subordinates, clarifying the dress code, and even sitting in on their meetings to make sure their voices and concerns were not only heard but addressed. When she could actually force her way into the conference rooms, granted.

"Giving credit where credit is due. Acknowledging when you don't know the answer to something rather than bullshitting. Standing up for your team instead of deferring to the higher ups without a whiff of resistance. It's really not that hard," Noa mused as ceiling panels and light fixtures crumpled against her billowing bulk. No longer did Noa have to settle for pissing and moaning about the state of office affairs. She was in a position to set the standards, to enforce them, and change them need be! Noa had simply conducted herself like the boss she always wished she had. The promotion, and everything that came with it, soon followed.

She shuddered when what remained of her jacket sleeves exploded off her mountainous arms while she was forced to hunch over. Breasts resting against her knees, sloshing as they inflated and dangerously encroached on the surrounding cubicles, Noa trembled as her swollen nipples strained what little of her bra remained. That was to say nothing of the reaction elicited by her shredded pants, barely a thong at this point, disappearing between her ass cheeks.

The fox couldn't help but giddily wonder what position lay in store for her next. There were only so many rungs to the corporate ladder and she was vaulting up them by the hour. Lips quivering, Noa dared to peek at her speck of a name tag still dangling from her tattered jacket.

"CEO"

Debris rained down upon her as she erupted into the second story. Cubicles, printers, and office furniture tumbled down along her mountain range shaming shoulders while she continued to swell. The entire company answered to her now. It only made sense all eyes were on her.

"What kind of CEO would I want to answer to?" Noa asked herself as she continued to explode outwards and upwards. Desks, drywall, and plaster collected against her thighs and thick feet while her employees gathered around the edges of the building. She watched their expressions harden as she became someone they regarded with fear more than trust. Someone distant and removed who could end their career in an instant.

Noa's ears drooped at the sight. It was no different than how she used to regard the higher ups. The ascendant arctic fox nodded as she settled on her answer. "What I always wanted was someone who answered to me. Not some nebulous equity company or board of investors or vulture capitalists. Someone... someone clear and to the point. Someone who didn't throw up a smokescreen of spreadsheets to bullshit up a reason why entire departments deserved to be axed."

Clearing her throat, the entirety of the skyscraper quaking at her unspoken word, Noa looked down upon all who answered to her. "Don't worry everyone, I'll keep this quick. I get no one likes these company wide meetings and, to reiterate, this isn't me dressing up some bad news as good news or anything of the sort. See... I've heard some rumblings lately that some of you have been agitating for better pay. Better protections. Better benefits. You know, everything our capitalist hellscape fails to provide."

She held up her hands, mindful not to cleave them through the building's supports, and motioned for the murmuring crowd to be at ease. "Well, I'm here to tell you that if that's in your best interests then it's in my best interests. You're what makes this company successful after all! So, you know, expect to see some changes rolled out shortly. My exorbitant pay will become anything but and yours will rise to where it ought to be." Donning a smirk, Noa playfully shrugged at the wave of disbelief rippling out among her employees. "That and, I dunno, you might as well unionize while you're at it. Help formalize this whole process, you know?"
