Oh believe me, I realized that inconsistency later on, well after I first wrote this scene and actually had a better understanding of like, writing characters lmao -- I think younger me thought that the later explanations with "a certain someone" would help put this scene into better context, but kid me did NOT understand the nuances of like, consistent characterization, because I made Gastly a smarmy asshole who doesn't give a single fuck about life in this part??? XDDDD So I've adjusted this scene a lot in terms of more subtle things, like expression and certain wording, while sticking with the events of the core scene. Hopefully that'll help things seem less flip-floppy in terms of the murder stuff, and will help with later context of Gastly's situation, but all the same, I'm just trying to do as much damage control as I can when it comes to the stupid shit younger me didn't think about adgsfghdgfjgkh-
