This is how my mind interpreted your drawing; I wonder if it has anything to do with your inspiration? The white represents a mental purity/clarity/selflessness in symbiosis with the red, which represents the instinct to preserve/protect oneself. This invokes the knowledge of the self worth defending. The patience and compassion is a feature of the white which allows itself to not be pure, and through this it displays the discipline to forebear the internal struggle and attend to the outer struggle, expressing a form of mature selflessness and not fixating on the internal. The warrior expresses the true value of life, while conserving his/her own by knowing when and why to defend it. So I would say this character's color scheme symbolizes the balance of selfishness and selflessness which allows a warrior to meet with life-destroying forces and return fully intact, including the ability to overcome the petty internal resistance through self-compassion. Thus life is preserved, strengthened, and safeguarded. This balance forms the solid ground on which a person's essence is able to grow. Upon such foundations entire civilizations may rise and fall.

Wow, that's an interesting way of looking at it! A lot of it happens to fit in with some of her character traits as well. Thank you for your comment. c:
