Here's a soundtrack piece I wrote for a competition on TIGSource, which I honestly started to think I didn't have time for.
Loosely inspired by the early 80s B movie "Final Exam".
The pain was the strings. I originally used synth strings from the Prophet VS, only to discover that it resulted in a significant DC offset. :P Also, to clarify about possible sampling accusations: despite one of the sounds at the end, I did not sample from the Halloween II soundtrack. I recreated the sound in question from scratch using Omnisphere and a Linndrum kick. ;)

Outrageously horrific. I adore the screeching background-like sounds, they are so idiosyncratic to a horror soundtrack!
But back to the musical score itself, it is simply mortifying manifesting itself into a symphony of dread and darkness as if demoniacal fiends screech and roar in the darkest chasms of the underworld. Makes me feel as if my mind breaks in millions and millions of shards. Lovely, simply lovely.
Not to mention 1:20, basically, the zenith of what is an inconceivable escapade into the jaws of the void.
A most lugubrious work. I commend you!
