Sketched him a while back, finally finished him up!
Man, I don't even remember. I drew it as a refined sketch in pencil first, then I took the scan, lined it digitally and colored it. I did a lot of the coloring in pieces while I was on a trip to visit my family. Altogether it was several hours at least... maybe 5+?
Only five hours? I'm impressed! I've known people who take five weeks to finish artwork less fine than this. o:
I've been practicing drawing on paper for some time now. I'm sort of afraid to go forward from that, with the digital stuff and all - it just feels too overwhelming. You have any tips?
Haha, it could have been a good deal more than that, but it's a lowball estimate. I have no idea, really. Like I said, it was broken up over the span of a week or so while I was on vacation. I may have just spent 5 hours in ONE DAY doing it.
Practice! Take the chance! I find digital is actually the best medium for those who are nervous, because you can backtrack so easy. You can't really backtrack with an ink pen. It's great to be able to just practice new things and mess around with it.
Well, Nanaki certainly agrees with you! Weasyl, despite being a hotspot of sorts for artists fleeing FA, is surprisingly barren of really any fan art, especially furries from video games. And believe me, I know. I browse for pictures and comment whenever I have the chance.
I'm not nervous about making mistakes per se, but I've seen people do speed paints and etc. on Youtube. I don't know what programs they use, but that shouldn't matter; I have a tablet, that should be all an artist really needs to move forward.
... Now if only I knew how to use it. XD
