"Perhaps a life worth living" Pt 4 - Days 5, 6, and 7

This story was originally from a series of short stories set in an alternate future setting known as 'Hybrid World'.

A human man and a Hybrid girl are forced together under less than favorable circumstances in a place of oppression and control. Can they move beyond a terrible beginning and learn to understand and trust one another?

In this part, a day of reflection punctuated by a promise kept, a tale of lingering pain from days long past, and fears finally giving way to acceptance of a new life.
