Taoism by Poonya

Taoism

Poonya

This was for an assignment in my Communication Design class. We has to choose two cultural symbols and interpret them in our own way using principles in the Gestalt theory. Here is my rendition of Taoism and the Yin Yang symbol.

Known to most as the Yin Yang, this symbol often represents the Tao Chinese art of Tai Chi and symbolizes universal harmony between opposing sides. Yin is the black, Yang is the white, and whether it means dark and light, man and woman, or the sun and the moon, the Yin Yang represents monism, or the ideal that "all is one."
