Dante is one of my oldest characters I have kept. I created him in 2010 in high school where as I mentioned in one of my older posts that he is inspired by Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. At that point his backstory was that he was a famous cartoon star who’s retired. He didn’t have snout because I can’t remember why I didn’t draw him with one. For years he wouldn’t have a snout despite me changing him a bit in 2013. Late 2013 and Early 2014 was when his design started evolving slowly with his nose getting longer, somewhat getting a snout, and slowly gaining three fingers. His backstory changed to that he retired from acting, eventually became part of a reality show that filmed retired stars, and eventually he got tired of the filming life and became a detective. After 2014 and early 2015 I didn’t draw him again until 2016 where his design and backstory got a big overhaul. His snout is now a big physical feature, I gave him a mustache and a little goatee, and gave him a snazzy outfit. He finally looks like the age he’s suppose to be, which is in his 40s, which I didn’t give him an official age until 2014. His personality changed slowly as well, in the beginning he didn’t have much of one besides that he was somewhat similar to Conker. Overtime he kept his somewhat asshole personality until now where I decided that he’s suave and snarky which he was neither before. His backstory now is that he’s still an actor who does a lot of guest star and commercial stuff. I’m glad that this character has changed bit by bit over the years.
