True that! I just noticed one of our trees outside the Library where I work has the white, peely-kind of bark, I’d never really seen one up close before. They did some new plantings for spring around our building.

Paper bark? We got a lot of that kind of tree where I live too. You can paint on it.

Yeah, I think so! It's funny, because until I went to California to visit family (and to go to nerd conventions), I'd never seen a palm tree before and I was surprised at how actually UNREALISTIC they look--they don't look like real, existing trees and their bark is always peeling off! XD
