    Thank you very much!

I'll spare you a bunch of nitpicking about grammar and the like (as I have more literate friends who might be more helpful in that regard), as well as try to avoid any spoilers for anyone else that might want to read this, but I found this to be an interesting interpretation of a lot of ideas I haven't fully explored yet. The process of discovering a new civilization by pure chance seems exactly how things would often go, you did a good job at fleshing out a couple main characters, introduced just enough technobabble (and more importantly, sold your technobabble with confidence!) to make the story seem very much a part of a large, established universe like any episode of Star Trek might. It manages to set up that this story takes place within a larger universe with ideas that will be unpacked and expanded on gradually as time goes on.

The only nitpick I'll make is the usage of the term "Geoterran", but that also shows that you actually took the time to learn just enough about my universe to know that Geoterra is a world within it. In turn, I appreciate the use of the term "Lightbearer" because, intentional or not, it's somewhat ambiguous while making the faction seem vaguely threatening--is this a reference to the Lightbearer Dominion by a faction that is wary of them and their activities, or is the term synonymous with the Luxians/Lucifer, who despite generally being considered an extinct ancient race and empire, still maintain a small but not-insignificant, fragmented presence throughout the galaxy?
(Better to NOT spoil that by clarifying right now, though.)

While I may not end up going in the same direction with some of these ideas as you have, I definitely approve of your exploration. It's certainly a trip to think that I've created something that has people creating fanfiction and fan characters for it.

Don't take this as a slight, but as a compliment and encouragement--perhaps you should try your hand at creating your own story sometime! I think you have some interesting ideas that might benefit from not being tied to my own incomplete world-building, and might be worth exploring independently in a universe and setting that you have complete control over.

Changing the name of the language would be a quick easy edit, I was trying to convey an empire based on trade and mutual protection expanding into less developed or unknown areas something like the Roman empire around the time the British Isles were conquered. Latin I assume (lack of knowledge acknowledged) was a common language spoken by highly educated in outlying regions. If a Romanised (excuse the word) official from say north Africa were to talk with a similar person from Londinium I assume it would be their only common language, but if a previously unknown tribe on the west coast of Ireland were found to speak it fluently it would be at the least puzzling. If you have a name you would prefer I use please say.

Slight aside my next-door neighbor when I was a boy was a Methodist lay-preacher, a very educated man. Also a radio ham, he used to talk to a man in Russia, their only common language ancient Hebrew.
If anybody out there is prepared to nit pic on grammar it would be appreciated.
