A crossover fanart, you say? No wai!

Anyways, no thanks to Kuro, I've been playing Dust: An Elysian Tail on Steam, and I am loving every second of it. The fact this game is a one man army (minus the voice actors, of course) is pretty damn impressive for what you get! Granted, I did find myself laughing at some of the controls (like going down the stairs is Dust crouching + down arrow xD;; ) but, other than that, it's still really, really good.

This image was different to do--drawing a Mobian female with five fingers whereas Dust only has four (his thumbs are obviously hidden underneath Layla's palms) was interesting. I was going to have Layla crying but...well...she's white, so that's hard to illustrate properly. xD;

I would have put Fidget, Dust's best bud nimbat and sidekick in the game in there with Layla-Ne's seeing eye friend nimbat, Aquarius, but I lacked the space, and I figured, I'd do those two some other time. Also, yes, Layla-Ne DOES have her eyes opened this time. ;P

GAME SPOILER! IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THE GAME SPOIL FREE--DO NOT READ BEYOND THIS! YOU'RE WARNED!

The whole premise of this was out of my desire to write to a Dust fanfiction with Layla-Ne, since she's very eastern, and it's easy to get her in such settings. The whole idea is that Layla-Ne is/was in love with Cassius--the assassin and best friend of the General. When he leaves on his last mission, and is (presumably) killed by Jin, Layla-Ne is left with no knowledge of what has happened to the man she loved as she was never told of the raid he was attending. With Cassius and Jin's spirits merging to form, Dust, Layla-Ne is unaware of this as she is blinded by the time Dust enters her life. Through her moments with him, she can sense something familiar about him, but isn't sure who he is until he helps her regain her sight back.

Still set on the idea that he is not Jin nor Cassius and is merely Dust, Layla-Ne at least gets to say her farewell to Cassius before his spirit leaves the sword and Dust. Remaining by his side in thanks for what he had done for her, who knows what is to happen next. eyebrow wiggle xP
