Bernard Agre Progression

Oreana

My painter baby. XD Created on a whim for the Skyrim story, I wasn't expecting to grow so attached to Bernard that he ended up in many different zones. Anywhoze, enjoy:

Name: Bernard
Age: 47
Family:

  • Noel- (father: deceased)
  • Yolan-La - (mother)
  • Jilan-La - (older sister)
  • Esta-La (younger sister)
  • Olivia (First wife: deceased)
  • Shar-On (second wife)
  • Sylv-Ia (daughter)
  • Ryssa (step-daughter)
  • Luke (son-in-law)
  • Remington (son-in-law)
  • Remy'Ko (grandson-in-law)
  • Spencer, Cecil-Ia, Cynth-Ia, Balthier, and Van (grandchildren) Occupation: Freelance writer/painter Bio: Born in the city of Albion, Bernard has very little memory of his father, Noel, as he died from Neuromuscular disease when he was only 5. Being raised in a house full of females, he would grow up to be a rather docile and caring echidna in the process. Enjoying the world around him, Bernard often spent his free time doing art and writing stories in his sketchbooks and journals he would accumulate over the years. While enjoying landscapes, he put most of his admiration into women as he admired his mother for being able to carry on after her husband died--always being there for Bernard and his sisters whenever they needed her love and support the most.

Their mother moving the family to Angel Island when he turned 13, Bernard was able to adapt thanks to Reynard, his best friend, always being there for him during and after school hours. During his time on school grounds, he began to grow a closeness to the beautiful Shar-On who he began to draw and write love poems and short stories about as he grew older (putting a personal sketchbook off to the side with all of his emotions for her buried within it). When he finally felt he had the courage to tell her how he felt, Reynard asked Bernard what he thought about himself and Shar-On getting together. Not wanting to deny his friend being happy for everything Reynard had done for him, Bernard encouraged the idea while putting his emotions off to the side and burying his nose back into his art--putting the heavy sketchbook dedicated to the woman he loved off to the side in his closet, believing that chapter closed when Reynard and Shar-On married four years later.

As time went on, Bernard found a new muse to override the one he lost: the white wolf, Olivia. Finding out that she was a prostitute, Bernard would often pay her for her time in attempts to draw her whenever he was able. With the attraction growing upon every visit, Bernard began to fear for her safety whenever she'd show up to painting sessions with bruises on her body from aggressive customers. Noticing that she was also pregnant, he ended up paying what money he could for Olivia's safety--buying her freedom.

When his daughter, Sylv-Ia, was born, Bernard didn't need to wonder if she was his the moment he held her. Regardless of the funds being weak within the family, Bernard did his best to keep his family afloat by taking on any offers he could when it came to selling his paintings.

Losing his wife when Sylv-Ia is only 10, the painter did what he could for his broken family, and often leaned on Shar-On and Reynard as well as occupying his time with babysitting their daughter, Ryssa, who he loved as his own. Upon Reynard dying on the job for the E.S.T., Bernard grieves over the loss of his friend with Reynard's widowed wife, who he still has buried feelings for. When Ryssa finds the old sketchbook dedicated to her mother, she starts to constantly pick on and grumble at Bernard for not speaking up about his feelings for her mother, Shar-On. Upon mustering up the courage again, Bernard finally finds the moment to talk to Shar-On and show her the sketchbook filled with paintings, poems, and stories about her and explain his love for her, which was always there. Overwhelmed by the large collection in the sketchbook, Shar-On happily accepts his offer and the two marry.
Notes: Later on, Bernard suffers from muscle weakness/disease in his right leg, causing him to move to a cane when he's in his 50s. Since medicine is so primal in the Skyrim universe, the muscle degeneration is what causes him to die in that zone.
