May I ask what media you used?

      Acrylics!

Incredible! Love the texture. Thank you!

Awesome! All fresh new (old) pictures that I have never seen before. This one is such a joy to look at. I find the nature in this so strikingly real - the mossy forrest floor feels so soft and damp, the patches of light radiate warmth and I can almost smell this picture. It smells like the resinous fir trees in the distance, like moss and earth.. oh, and like wolf breath :).

Thank you! I'm going through an archive of stuff that was more expansive than I thought. More to come!

It always amazes me how you make digital painting feel so traditional (I have no preference between the two but usually it's very easy to tell which is which).

If I remember correctly, this one IS actually traditional media. Acrylic, I think?

Ah. I stand corrected then. :)

Yes, this was done in acrylics. Trad-media pieces crop up from time to time, but most are indeed done in PS.

It scanned really well too! Usually when I do anything traditional it's more or less obvious even after PS adjustments.

If I recall correctly this was photographed (too big to be scanned). Compared to the original this is a tad too light and saturated, but it was the best I could to at the time and I don't have the RAW-file anymore.

Ah. Gosh, photographing art is even trickier. Also you keep inspiring me to give acrylics another try - I have a few tubes somewhere but when I tried them I treated them more like gouache than something painterly and wasn't happy with the result.

        Correct!

Oh goodness you did this with acrylics?? This is absolutely stunning. I really love the colours in this, the greens mixed with the umber, really striking.

I really did. I struggle the most with sketch-work and composition, colours and painting are relatively easy in any medium, traditional or digital.

I'm AMAZED that you did this in acrylics, if you hadn't said so I'd have assumed it was watercolor, or like OddOly up there thought, digital. I love how soft it all looks.

      Thank you!
