Until the Day by Onic

Until the Day

Who feels the pounding of their heart

And fire flowing through their veins

When love appears before their eyes

And all their vision stains?

If any makes a claim against

Reactions such as these, they lie

All people subject to their hearts

On nothing else rely

And when the feeling grows too strong

To hold within that swollen chest

The mouth will open into song

For which I'm owed redress

The stagnant words give me offense

A lack of effort coarse as sand

Or flourish all too grand a phrase

I cannot understand

It's words that fail to capture me

My heart is closed, a heavy door

It shall remain until the day

That someone offers more

Until the Day

Onic

There is a futility in professing love through words.
