Life's A Chibi: Accidents Happen

o-kemono

I did this after a recent car collision that Soryane and I were in. It was bad and the only thing that didn't survive was the car itself. Everyone in both cars were fine. Whiplash, angry and in shock on our ends, but we were mostly ok. One drive by stranger stopped by us and called 911 and the tow truck for us. He checked on us to make sure both parties were ok and stayed until the tow trucks got to us. After that, several of our friends offered to help in what they could. It made us feel like we weren't alone in our troubled state. Something as simple as making an emergency phone call for you or dropping everything you are doing and offering your services that can heave some of the burden of what just happened.

Accidents happen: a befallen stroke of luck or Mother Nature playing a small trick on you. An act of God or just your own wrong doing. The end result is that something bad happened to you - something very small to something that would alter your life and those around you.

There are some people who have the baddest luck in the worst possible moment. When something happens that they didn't expect to happen, the best thing one can do is aid them out of their accident. Your willing to help and your concern "cushions" the blow the other just suffered through. It shows that you want to help them out of their situation by offering your support and/or comfort. You want to make what happened less bad than what it was, as much as you can. Just being there and willing to give the victim your support and helping hand does wonders. It also shows that you care.

If you are in or had an accident, minor or major, the first thing that should come to your head is if you are alright - if you are still in one piece and alive. After that, quickly check on the others that were involved in the accident. If they are in a deeper predicament, help them. If you see someone who is in trouble or just had an accident and/or in trouble, make sure they are ok.

phew, it's kind of alarming to hear you just casually throw out you and soryane could have been seriously hurt... glad you both made it through ok.

When I got in my first car accident my 1988 GMC Jimmy was totaled. I survived with the grace of God and a seat belt. I was in so much shock and distress that I didn't know what to do. One of the witnesses let me use her cell phone to call my mom. She also let me sit in her car to calm down and listen to the radio while I waited my turn to give information to the police. It was an amazing gesture from a total stranger who happened to have seen the whole thing. I was shook up hurt and delusional but that one person helped me so much even if it was only for a little while. She even offered me a cigarette but I don't smoke. I don't even know that woman's name. But you're right. Her willingness to help and lessen the blow did do wonders.

Good submission. Thanks for sharing your story and thoughts about what happened to you.
