A small comic strip. Yes, there are some artists who draw the line of drawing "below average" body types and only draw one type of body shape and structure, either because that's the only shape they know how to draw, or just personal belief that "Victoria's Secret" skinny models are the definition of the perfect woman...
Everyone has their own unique body structure. Respect each and every one of them.

Granted, sometimes it's nearly impossible to get commissions from some folks (due to their popularity, price, or rarely open commission slots) and in those situations you got to take what you can get... I've had a couple expensive lessons on the technical limits of a few of my favorite artists as well, it sucks.
Other times, you know they're totally capable but your piece was done on the last night of a con along with fifty other pieces...
Saw this posted on e621, And watched ignorant nitwits give their opinion that, essentially, any girl about 89 lbs is "fat," that there's no such thing as 'plus-sized" or "full-figured." Just "fat" or "normal." I gave them what-for because I've dated the "full spectrum" from 88 to 250 and the size of the woman has never changed how attractive she is, and more importantly the differences in size never once yielded a difference in attitude, personality, or flaws. But if there was a trend, it was that the "larger" women were more appreciative, more loyal, more heartfelt and selfless. Yes, there is an unhealthy point, but that exists on both ends.
All in all, though, I kind of want to know who this artist is so I can avoid them. Even if it might be a case of "this is the only body type I know how to draw, then he should have owned up to it and said so instead of this "I drew you better" BS.

So is this how the character looks regularly?
