My third project for color theory was to make five 3x6 rectangles with different color themes, and of the five, I took four of them and scanned the sketches to color them digitally (I’m not posting the originals because I paint like shit) AND OF COURSE I MADE ALL OF THEM CHAO-THEMED

The first one is a high-key picture using all twelve colors on the color wheel, and the goal was to have minimal contrast. I kind of failed on that with the head and emotiball but no one's gonna grade me on this so I kept the colors I used. If you try really hard, you can see the Chao’s eyes. Also I used the binary tool for that one and it made it 1000 times easier

The second one is monochromatic and it didn’t really matter if we had any contrast. I think this one is my favorite cause I LOVE HERO STAMINA/FLY CHAO

I kind of modeled it after one of my Chao whose default expression was the flat gaze and little frown. I always thought of him as stoic and exasperated with everyone.

The third one was analogous, and we were originally supposed to use four analogous colors but then my professor suddenly changed it to three, so I had to re-label everything. Obviously, I couldn’t color the egg with actual Chao egg colors. I adjusted well, though. LOTS of tinting and shading. That Chao looks kind of creepy.

And the fourth one is high contrast, and I didn’t include it in the image because the colors are VERY bright and jarring, and I really don’t want to be responsible for anyone’s seizure, or even just a headache. It was really hard doing this picture (especially with paints) because there’s no way to make a high-contrast picture with all twelve colors without it being REALLY UGLY. It was the whole point of the assignment, but…jeez.

The low-key one didn’t make it in because I did it last minute and already had all these scanned. I might get to it eventually but right now my work is hanging up in the studio BECAUSE I GOT A 96 YEAH
