Wooo first self portrait of 2016! I really practiced/ focused on shading and shadows on this one (one of my first attempt at drawing “hard shadows being cast by something.)

I also remembered while working on this that I am FAR better at making realistic things (shading and such) with a reference. half the shading in this picture I would have never figured out myself if I had drawn this from my head.

Anyway two versions of this picture. One with the blocks and words and one without. I did the 1st picture (or edit since they are the same picture) once I was done because I’ve been wanting to work on… I guess you’d call it designer aspect, like stuff to add/ do other than just draw a thing. like you know stuff to make it pretty and pop or whatever and while that wasn’t like 100% what I was going for I dig it and that’s all that really matters. one day I’ll be good enough to do what I really want to do, but first baby steps!
