With the leadership of Mazdak dorm shifting into the grasp of first year student, Makumbo Mubarak; many changes were made. Not only did the rules shift from the late second year Dorm Master Aut, but also it seems the Dorms Dragon has been ousted in favor of a far larger one.

Ma'li is an Aether Dragon, and Mr. Mubaraks' personal 'pet'. Though a mere hatchling in the previous year, Makumbo utilized the time difference of his home realm to accelerate her growth into a mature dragon. With the several month School break translating into several hundred years within his home world. Ma'li is enormous, most average sized adults barely coming up to her wrist.

Being an Aether Dragon or 'Magic Eater' in Magi terminology, Ma'li sports an incredible intelligence as with the capability of speech. She holds an affinity for magic, primarily that of the Arcane and varying aspects of Null and Void; making her incredibly dangerous to magic users. The flame like wisps lining her body carry the same property as Makumbo, giving off burning properties to any who touch her mane. This mane can flare up with excited or angry.

As a precaution, Makumbo has given out special emblems to all Mazdak Students. These emblems grant Mazdak students immunity from Ma'li's exceptionally deadly magic and mane. This emblem can only belong to Mazdak Students.
