Niv emigrated to Val'En from the western Azuran kingdom after hearing that the town was opening to outsiders as part of the Fioan nation's integration with the Central Union. He found work apprenticing to a local leather worker, which quickly brought him into contact with Mela. The two eventually became close and have been married for a couple years now.
