Rise is the story of a young girl who dreams of winning the annual Gryphon's Run endurance race, in memory of her father. To enter the race, she will have to trap and train a wild gryphon, all on her own. If that wasn't hard enough, she begins to uncover secrets from her father's past, secrets that hint he wasn't the man she thought he was.

She struggles with the weight of what her father has done. On top of that, his lies left her with a reputation she can't seem to be free of, no matter how much she fights against it. As race time draws closer, she must decide if she will risk her life in honor of a man she doesn't even know, or withdrawl from the race and prove herself to be the coward everyone believes she is.
