Rainer is contracted under the government/military as an Intel gatherer, a job that sends him traveling a great deal. He's a fairly typical guy otherwise and enjoys learning new martial art disciplines and having a beer. He loves to be around company but only really opens up to become chatty if someone else prompts him to. His job puts him in tight situations more often than not and are very dangerous so he tries to keep his loved ones at a slight distance.

In his universe, males are born unable to see the world in color. Females are born unable to see them as well until puberty when they acquire a dull sense for them. It isn't until a mate pair is formed/bonded that they can see in vivid color. (If a mate is in the nearby vicinity, males will experience the same dull sensation of color until physical contact is initiated)
