Introducing Niya the Japanese Bobtail

Niya is a Japanese Bobtail that was born on the small island of Niʻihau, one of the main eight islands of Hawaii, and the least populated, aside from Kahoʻolawe. Both sides of Niya's family had been on the islands for generations. Though many would not think of a non native species to be as well versed in the native culture as she is, her family is as Islander as you can get. Niya knows every tale of the Islands by heart, she knows the songs, the dances, and all of the cuisine, the Islands are her home, and she loves them like none other.

Niya's been surfing since before she could walk, as is normal for most raised on the islands, her father would take her out with him on his board when the waves were small, and as she grew, so did the waves she learned to surf on. Niya also has a penchent for skate boarding around when her Jeep is out of gas or when she doesn't have to go far.

Niya's parents moved to one of the more populated islands when she was seventeen, but since she did not want to go, she stayed in the house up in the jungle that had been built by her great great grandfather on her mother's side. The house was full of history, happiness, comfort, and most important to Niya, love. Since her parents moved out, Niya's house has been a place for friends falling on hard times to come and cast troubles away, Niya may sometimes have trouble paying some of the bills, but being a true islander, she works hard and is happy with the things she can accomplish, and at the least, she could always say she had a meal to feed herself and if needed a meal to feed others.

Niya loveds to garden, but sadly is not very good at it, the only thing she has ever planted that actually grew into maturity and is somehow still thriving, is an ugly, over grown pineapple bush that bares fruit more oftan than the books say it should.
