OOAK Art Doll - Rainy Day Moose

nightmute

This art doll was inspired by my new neighbors: a bunch of moose. They seem to always come out when it rains. And then most of the time, they are standing around in water while it rains, but I never see them in water on sunny days? Like, wouldn't you rather be in coldish water when it's really hot out or something? It's already kind of cold when it rains here... so I dunno... I don't get moose logic I guess. But I chose a bright color scheme for his eyes and nose, ect, to signify that they must be really warm on the inside. I adore how his antlers came out!

As usual, I used Sculpey III and Super Sculpey and painted it with Liquitex acrylics for the head, antlers and hooves. The sculpted parts are very well reinforced with thicker steel wire and tin foil. Hooves were dusted with Pearl EX prior to baking and then I added more glitter and many coats of varnish. I applied swarovski crystals as well. He stands very well on 4 legs, but gets a little shakey on 3... but he sits ok (but looks sort of unnatural lol). He is very flexible thanks to his armature--I use two twisted thicker-gauge steel wires. The only part you can't adjust is his tail.

He's looking for a new home! https://www.etsy.com/listing/239789324/ooak-art-doll-rainy-day-moose?ref=shop_home_active_1
