I am Adrian Foster, chief illustrator, and owner of Nightfrost Studios. My signature style is dark fantasy art and my incredible attention to detail breathes life into my art. The focus I put into each piece shines throughout my entire portfolio.
In the early stages of my career, I used ballpoint pen a lot and demonstrated my potential and skill with a series of images. I had some of my early work in this ballpoint pen style published in a book, "Video Production: Putting Theory Into Practice" by Ian Wynd and Steve Dawkins.
During my time at University, I was introduced to digital painting by Toon Hoon. Toon Hoon is well known in Malaysia for his impressive and beautiful anime style illustrations.
I was so inspired and keen to learn more about the digital art world that I've spent a great deal of time learning independently and developing my own unique style and honing my skill set along with it.
I've worked hard to surpass my own limits and always try to create something new and spectacular.
My digital illustrations quickly grew in popularity and gained attention on social media, rocketing first to 10,000 views and snowballing to a massive 200,000+. I have had some of the biggest Facebook pages and website share examples of my work, including The Het Nationale Ballet - Dutch National Ballet and National Geographic.
As with any progressive artist, my style continued and continues to evolve. Mixing my ballpoint pen style with digital drawing to create digital ink illustrations was the next step for me. Since using this hybrid style, I have gained more clients and more attention to social media.
With such a high level of demand for my art, I am fulfilling a dream held for many years, working as an illustrator creating unique, one of a kind pieces fantasy art for many happy clients.
