Oolong dragon by NerielMi

Oolong dragon

NerielMi

Oolong is a kind of tea, the word means 'dark/black (< meaning also crow) dragon'. It was actually the first tea I started drinking. I stained this paper with milky oolong leaves and painted the dragon and crow with black chinese ink, using only calligraphic brush . I only wish I could also paint the chinese symbols for the tea in it, but unfortunately I've got not enough skills in calligraphy for that - maybe I'll add the symbols in the future.

This was actually way of overcoming my current art block - I found out that I care too much about the anatomy, lightning, composition, and I started hating my art because the knowledge my brain posses now still didn't get into my hands. I know that will get better with practice, or at least I believe so. But now I needed to paint something where I totally didn't care about these things, just to get at ease with my other art attempts. I quite like the result.:)
I hope you'll like it!

Thank you! I like it quite a lot, though I tried only the milky oolong so far - it has distinctive creamy scent and mild taste.:)
