When his father had not returned home with Kiasi, the cub started to worry. Father always returned home after the sun set no matter what he was doing. He promised...

But when Kopa finally did return home, all bloody and bruised, Ahi was worried that something bad had happened. Where was Saaka?

Mavuto called the pride together for a meeting, but already the news was buzzing around. Ahi heard many shouts to bring death to this lion that had hurt his father. But what about the one that hurt his brother? What about Saaka? There had to be a reason he wasn't here.

Kopa stood upon his rock, grinding his teeth as the shouts of the pride ceased to exist.

"Let it be known from this day forth, Saaka of the Riverlands and his descendants are exiled,"

Exiled...?

Ahi listened to his father's story, of how his elder brother had attacked him and would leave their father scarred for the rest of his life. A king needs scars, that's what Mavuto had told his eldest brother, Kiasi, but these were scars that were not obtained in glory. Ahi may be young, but he knew of the history of their pride, how his brother had now shamed their father and the pride. His descendants would carry that burden for the rest of their lives, not being allowed to return to their ancestral homeland for as long as they lived. A bastard of his father would carry more respect than Saaka and his descendants now, a bastard could take the throne if something happened to Kiasi.

He still didn't understand why his brother did it, he had always been kind to him. Always taking time out of his day to play with him. And now, he was gone...

But those memories weren't all he left behind.

And now with his brother's exile, Ahi was the second born son. It was always his destiny to head off to The Chill when he was of age, to give his life and serve the kingdoms. That was what was expected of the third born son of a Riverlands' king. But now, he was the second born, it would be his duty to serve as his brother Kiasi's right paw as commander of their armies. Something he had never wanted to do.

Tears fell from his eyes in sadness and anger. He didn't hear his father's words, calling one of Saaka's friends up to the rock to be executed. Mavuto came to his side, placing his paw around him and trying to get him to move. "My prince, you should not see this,"

But Ahi shook his head, "No," and watched as his father's bloodied paws became even more so with the blood of an innocent.
