This is part one of a three part short story project/experiment I finished a couple of months ago. It was rather fun to write, but unfortunately didn't receive much attention on the sites I posted it on. If you end up reading Sarmanian, please take the time to leave a comment or two and tell me what you think. I'd really appreciate it.
Additionally, in order to clear up some ambiguity, I'll post the small disclaimer I put on other sites. Sarmanian is set in a nonexistant country using real-life military hardware. Insipration from Valery and Dmitri's country was taken from Russian, the country of "Sarmanian" was modeled after a general nation in the Middle East, and I suppose that as a whole, the conflict was more or less written with the Soviet War of Afganistan in mind. With that being said however, I want to emphasize that this story is not meant to be historical fiction or an alternate version of real-world events.
On a similar note, if I failed to accurately describe/portray any portion of military hardware, equipment, or anything else found in reality, feel free to point it out. I tried to research everything as thoroughly as possible, but mistakes can, and do happen.
Again, thanks for reading! And be sure to leave a fave or a comment, please!
