Beak Concept for Clarence Mordrid by Void-Lizard

Beak Concept for Clarence Mordrid

Void-Lizard

Finally reworking my basic bitch beak into something a bit more personalized for my plague doctor costume and character design. I currently have a fuckin cheapass eBay white mask and black mask, planning on using some faux white leather ($7 actually buys a lot of this stuff) and parts from the black mask to build onto the white one. It came with clear soft plastic for the lenses, but that gives exactly 1% air flow and my dorky glasses can't handle that.

Details: Going to be adding a black beak tip. Adding circles to break up the vast white surfaces. As noted in the drawing, the beak isn't really that long, so only 2 will fit. Didn't have the masks on hand when I free-handed the sketch. The underside is going to be the most complex and intimidating part of the project and the, by far, most likely to make me have to start over. I'm planning on removing a strip, maybe an inch wide? In place of it, I'll be adding small (most likely plastic) strips across the gap for support. I'm not yet sure about the part closest to my neck, I'll have to take it as it goes and figure out details for that part on the fly, but I might add an angled piece of either black (if enough remains?) or white leather because I can't imagine it'd feel good otherwise. The eyes will have a very thin black or red mesh over them so I can see out while getting a bit more airflow.

When I was sketching, I had red lines for the borders and it looked hella good but I don't have the supplies or talent to trim this stuff. I barely even know how I'll tack it all together.

Edit- Working on the mask, been kind of a rough trip, but overall I think it'll look pretty nice when I'm finally done. Needs refining and cleaning still. I'll have to get around to drawing Clarence wearing it once I'm actually done working.
