Concepts for another Sleeping Souls storyline. Essentially, despite what all the bat stuff at the top might make you think, it's about two sisters: Dr. Zoe Barber and Athanasia. The doctor's a surgeon, whose job it is to save lives. Atha is a psychopomp whose duty is to bring souls of the dead to judgement.

Zoe can also see ghosts, and Atha is actually Zoe's long-deceased twin sister.

I love the basic idea behind the storyline, and I think some of my more clever species choices have gone into it as well - for instance, the twins are venomous snakes. The "death" aspect is obvious (especially since they're black mambas), but the snake coiled around a staff has long been a symbol for medicine, too. Also there's Des, the bat who died of rabies; you can probably guess why I picked that one.

Problem is, while I like the characters and concepts, I don't have a plot for them yet! Ah well.
