Ref Sheet - Sēnlín

Nashida

EDIT: She earned her stamp on 7/20/2014! Thank you!

I present Sēnlín, the angel dragon! Her name means "forest" in Chinese. I spent a year overseas in China teaching, and my zodiac sign is an earth dragon, so it only seemed fitting I combine the two together. (Especially since Salonga was originally going to be my China character and I tweaked her a bit)

Some tidbits about her:
-Her tongue is blue, like a lizard. It's the only way you'll ever find her during a game of hide and seek in the woods. XD She often forgets this and likes to stick her tongue out to be cheeky when she's winning.
-She's vegetarian. She doesn't like the taste of meat but the smell doesn't bother her much.
-If she's not feeling well her leaf feathers droop.
-She looses the leaves on her horns in winter.

This might get updated later since I forgot to put horns on her face. But she got a warm enough welcome in the angel dragon group on Facebook so I felt it was safe enough to share her here.

I like how you used the pinyin for the name, very creative!

Quick question: Is there a reason for the use of 森林 instead of 林? Sounded better or more correct usage, etc.?

It sounded better, i thought, and rolls off the tongue. I've found people are able to say her name better this way than 林.

You made me really stop and think there because it's been about a year now since I've had to read Chinese characters!

Ah, ok! And I'm a 3rd year Chinese language student, so it kind of just happened to be typed out by habit!

I taught English in Hangzhou for a year from 2012-2013 and had to self-teach myself the language (the caved and actually did a course).
